2017 White Wine Blend
At Fujishin Family Cellars, we annually produce four dry white wines that we are very proud of: Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Viognier, and Chardonnay. As many of our customers know, the winter of 2016/2017 was extremely hard on Idaho's grapes (and everything else, too!). Although the grapes we harvested in 2017 were high quality, we didn't have enough of these varietals to produce each one on its own as we usually do. As a result, we combined our limited yield of these grapes into one batch of wine, our 2017 White Wine Blend.
The great news is that our reduced harvest in 2017 created a spectacular white blend. The bouquet is reminiscent of apricots and honeysuckle, while the palate boasts crisp, refreshing notes of stone fruit, mandarin orange, Granny Smith apple and a hint of minerality on the finish. This is the perfect wine to pair with fruit and cheese, salads, lighter meats and creamy sauces; try it with your favorite chicken piccata recipe, harvarti and apricot preserves, or a mandarin orange and toasted almond salad.
